Therefore, 6 zones and 7 tourist routes have been developed, to promote all the elements that make EDOMÉX attractive. Focused on particular segments, routing Magical Towns, Charming Towns, and Municipalities with tourist vocation, which due to their geographic proximity and affinities are attractive to enjoy the EDOMÉX Experience.

Route of the heart of Mexico

Fall in love with the Capital of EDOMEX! As you travel along this route enjoying its cultural richness, visiting the imposing Cosmovitral. Considered the largest non-religious stained glass window in the world. As well as the Fundadores Science Park, the Planetarium, and the Plaza de los Mártires. An example of Mexico’s urban beautification; also enjoy the traditional cuisine such as tortas de Los Portales. The typical huaraches, chorizo, and mosquitos, as well as its gastronomy in the high cuisine restaurants.

On this route you can visit the Magical Town of Metepec, the Charming Towns of Lerma and Zinacantepec. Enjoy the gastronomy of Ocoyoacacac by tasting the tamales, as well as admire the work of making handmade rugs in Temoaya and the Otomí Ceremonial Center, in addition to the mariachi tradition of Calimaya.

Energy and health route

Adventures in Valle route

Experience the adventure of this region in the Estado de México, where you will witness one of the most impressive migratory phenomena in the world, in one of the 4 sanctuaries that are part of the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere, declared a World Natural Heritage Site. Get to know the Magic Town of Valle de Bravo and live the adrenaline of practicing water sports, paragliding, hang gliding, ATV, or rzr routes and enjoy its natural beauties to the fullest.

Guardians of the north route

On this route you can enjoy the living culture of the Mazahua and Otomí peoples, the pride of identity of the north of the State of Mexico; you will also get to know its architectural richness and experience a dose of adrenaline in its natural attractions.

Delve into the mining heritage of the Magical Town of El Oro, and take a trip to the past in the Municipal Palace and its charming Juarez Theater; know the dances and crafts of Temascalcingo and San Felipe del Progreso, and enjoy the passage of the monarch butterflies in San Jose del Rincon, the archaeological heritage of Acambay, the nature of Jocotitlan and the Isidro Fabela Museum in Atlacomulco.

Legends of the Camino Real route

On this route is located one of the four World Heritage Sites in the Estado de México, the Camino Real de Tierra Adentro, which was the path that connected Mexico City with Santa Fe, New Mexico; it functioned as a base for the commercial and cultural growth of the regions through which it passed, with its inns, sentry boxes, inns and churches that are proof of the splendor of this important centuries-old communication route. You will love the magic of Villa del Carbon, its traditional booties and its charro heritage; of Tepotzotlan and its imposing National Museum of the Viceroyalty; Aculco will amaze you with its waterfalls and cobblestone streets; Jilotepec will delight you with its temples and crags, and Polotitlan, where you can taste the delicious cheeses of the region, will welcome you with its beautiful kiosk.

Place of the gods route

No doubt this route will fascinate you because you will be able to live the experience of admiring the Archaeological Zone of Teotihuacan, which is the most visited in Mexico and the second in the world, besides having the opportunity to fly in a hot air balloon over the millenary pyramids; tour its pulque haciendas, admire the architecture of another World Heritage Site: the Aqueduct of Padre Tembleque; learn about the origin of the traditional piñatas, delight yourself with pre- Hispanic food, prickly pear, and xoconostle sweets; be impressed by the cultural richness of the east of the state and its ancestral traditions.
