Brasil, Argentina, Chile and Uruguay FAM Trip Queretaro and Mexico City

FAM Trip in Mexico with Mondo Travel Marketing

SAT Mexico organized an exclusive FAM Trip for directors and managers of travel and Incentive agencies from South America. The objective of this tour was to present Mexico in a different kind of way by promoting Mexico City and Querétaro as prospective event and travel destinations. Due to the support of Walter Soares and Hernan Cicchini from Mondo Travel Marketing, SAT Mexico was able to invite selected directors and managers from Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Uruguay to be part of this unique experience in Mexico.

We started our journey on a beautiful day in Mexico City with an awesome view over the whole city on the top of Mexico City Hilton Reforma. Afterward, we took our guests on a walking tour through the historic center of Mexico which is declared as UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our group was impressed by the colonial architecture and incredible buildings. As the climate was really hot it was time for a little refresh at MUTEM (Museum of Tequila and Mezcal). After enjoying a Welcome Cocktail, our group learned about history and production of Tequila and Mezcal. In the end, we received a delicious tasting of Tequila, Mezcal, and Tacos.

In the afternoon, we headed to Santiago de Querétaro which is a beautiful colonial city about three hours away from Mexico City. We finished our day with dinner at Hacienda La Venta, an overwhelming ancient building which was converted into a hotel some years ago. The next day, after having breakfast at Mision San Gil, we got to know the beautiful surroundings of Queretaro by visiting the brand-new cheese factory “Cava de Quesos Bocanegra” and the vinery “La Redonda”.

After enjoying the taste of Queretaro´s exquisite cuisine we headed over to Peña de Bernal, one of Mexico´s “pueblos magicos” (magic villages). The village is located at the foot of the third highest monolith of the world and provides a very magical atmosphere. After having lunch at Hotel Hotel Parador Vernal, some of our group just enjoyed the relaxed ambiance in the city, meanwhile, others climbed up the monolith. In the afternoon, we moved to the center of Querétaro where we discovered the legends of the city by a mystical walking tour operated by Promotur. This day ended up with dinner at Hacienda Jurica in an old church with a very special atmosphere.

Our third day in Mexico started with breakfast at Hotel Plaza Camelinas, from where we headed to the city center of Queretaro to show our group the beautiful colonial center in a Tranvia ride, a vehicle in the form of a train. Afterward, we experienced the feeling of real Mexican cantinas. Accompanied by tequila, spicy snacks, and Mariachi music it was a lot of fun! Our Queretaro experience ended here and we traveled back to Mexico City. A new day, a new adventure! This day our group was taken to be part of a very special experience.

At 5 am we got up to head to the Pyramids of Teotihuacán watching the sunrise on a hot-air balloon ride. It was definitely one of the best experiences for our participants during the whole trip. After having breakfast at Gran Teocalli, we discovered the archaeological zone of Teotihuacán and climbed up the Pyramid of the Sun and of the Moon. We continued our trip to Xochimilco and enjoyed lunch at the famous “Trajineras” (little boats) sliding through the water canals accompanied by Mariachi music. In the afternoon, we got to visit the museum of Frida Kahlo which is the famous “Casa Azul” (blue house) where she was born located in Coyoacán. Then we already came to our last evening of the FAM which we spent at Restaurant Chapulin of Intercontinental Presidente Polanco with a very exclusive dinner.

We want to say thank you to every participant, it was a pleasure for us having you here and showing our country to you. We also appreciate the support of our suppliers during this tour, especially to Aurora Aguilar of the Tourism Office of Queretaro and to the Queretaro´s Association of Hoteliers, which have helped us with the organization of the activities in Queretaro.
