WRC Rally Championship

The World Rally Championship is one of the Guanajuato Great Events! As it is a speed automobile competition that takes place during the month of March. Where 24 timed sections are carried out on dirt roads that surround the cities of León, Guanajuato, and Silao. Ceremonial Start at the Alhóndiga de Granaditas. It’s a route that runs through cobblestone streets and emblematic tunnels of the city of Guanajuato. Guanajuato residents and visitors experience the international motorsport sport. It will be celebrated year after year in the state of Guanajuato. A destination considered the “Capital of Rallism in North America.

Guanajuato International Film Festival (GIFF)

The International Film Festival takes place in the month of July with different venues within Guanajuato. It has the participation of Mexican and international film productions in various municipalities of the state. The event presents more than 3,500 short films, documentaries, and feature films. In special exhibitions and competitions in outdoor settings or emblematic places in the state.

Grape Harvests in Guanajuato

In the so-called “Land of Wines”, there are great wine events! Held between the months of July and October. Which offer visitors exceptional wine experiences in different parts of the State. Such as Dolores Hidalgo CIN, San Miguel de Allende, San Felipe, San Diego de la Unión, Comonfort and Guanajuato. 

Among the activities that can be done are grape stomping, wine tasting, enjoying live music. Also, taking tours of the vineyards, tasting labels, participating in workshops, tasting traditional cuisine, and blessing the harvest.

León Fair

The event is considered the “Best Family Fair in Mexico”, it is celebrated annually between January and February since 1876.

The fair was created with the objective of celebrating the anniversary of the founding of León. It offers traditional attractions such as mechanical games, livestock exhibitions, crafts, pavilions, and more. Such like the Poliforum, Commercial Pavilion, Entertainment Pavilion, and Pavilion Guanajuato. In addition, it has the participation of the municipalities of Guanajuato that disseminate their identities and products.

National Holidays

In the Cradle of Mexican Independence, the Pueblo Mágico Dolores Hidalgo is the host of the most anticipated national celebration. That is experienced with greater emotion than anywhere else in Mexico.

For two weeks, a fair is held with various activities. Musical events in the Main Garden and the People’s Theater, craft exhibitions, sports events, fireworks and mechanical games, and a circus, among others. Without forgetting that on September 15, the traditional Grito de Dolores takes place. Where it recreates the iconic speech of priest Miguel Hidalgo that began the Mexican Independence Struggle.

International Cervantino Festival (ICF)

It is the most important cultural event of its kind in Latin America. With activities in emblematic settings of the capital of the state of Guanajuato. Here., art, traditions, and culture from Guanajuato, Mexico, and the entire world come together. This event is celebrating 50 editions. It´s held during the month of October. Traditionally in each edition, a country and a state of the republic are invited to present their cultural proposal at the festival.

Day of the Dead Festival

The Capital of Guanajuato prepares a mega Day of the Dead festival! Which takes place at the end of October and the beginning of November of each year. Since its foundation in 2019. On each day of the festival, you can find a wide variety of events scheduled in different parts of Guanajuato. Variety of activities, contests, and events totally related to the festivity. Ranging from the presentation of a monumental offering. Like contests, workshops, alleys, musical presentations, live shows, night tours of local cemeteries. An exhibition of mats made with seeds, flowers, and colored sawdust, among others!

International Hot Balloon Festival

The festival is an air show that has place every year since 2002. Currently considered one of the 3 main ballooning events worldwide. Where dozens of hot air balloons rise through the sky of León, Guanajuato. In addition to the flight of aerial balloons, the festival is stage for various singers, musical groups, and artistic shows! Who share their talent before the more than 400 thousand visitors that this Festival receives each edition.

International Jose Alfredo Jimenez Festival

Festival has place every year in the Pueblo Mágico Dolores Hidalgo. Which pays tribute to ‘El Rey,’ on the occasion of the death of this legend of Mexican music. Highlighting this year, as the 50th celebration of death anniversary.

The event is full of concerts, serenades, bohemians, tours of canteens, photographic exhibitions, and tours to the singer-songwriter museum! There are gastronomic and craft exhibitions, and many more activities.
